We are the amateur radio club located in the City of Valdosta in Lowndes County, GA. The first known historical mention of Amateur Radio club members was in 1927. The group became an affiliated member of the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) on February 20, 1947 and has been an active part of the community for nearly a century.
We are a group of amateur radio operators from all walks of life, and have many different radio specialties. You are likely to find an operator interested in “rag chewing”, digital communications, DX’ing, contesting, rig building, QRP’ing, DX’peditions, teaching new hams, VE’ing, satellites, repeaters, computers, RF electronics as well as many other radio disciplines.
We make ourselves available to the community through local organizations including the Valdosta-Lowndes Parks and Recreation Authority, Lowndes County Emergency Management, the Red Cross, Salvation Army, and any other public or governmental organization in need of volunteer emergency communications not readily available elsewhere.
